Coffee Gear Guide for your Daily Grind
Hello, coffee lovers! If you’re like me, your day doesn’t truly begin until you’ve had that first, perfect cup of coffee. Over the years, I’ve experimented with countless coffee gadgets, and today, I’m excited to share my absolute favorite coffee gear that I use every day. I’m that person that likes a hot cup of coffee not matter the weather, it’s that warm mug in the morning for me. Come summer time, I love an afternoon cold brew with whole milk and a splash of maple syrup.
Daily Go-To Gear
Chemex Pour-Over Glass Coffeemaker - Classic Series - 8-Cup
The Chemex is a staple in my coffee routine. Its timeless design and superior brewing capabilities make it a must-have for anyone serious about their pour-over coffee. The glass construction ensures that no flavors are absorbed, and the eight-cup capacity means you can easily share your brew with friends or savor multiple cups throughout the day. The Chemex not only looks stunning on the counter but also delivers a clean, crisp cup of coffee every time. I like the natural filters but you can also get a metal one that’s reusable if you’d like!
Hario V60 Drip Scale
Precision is key in the world of coffee, and the Hario V60 Drip Scale is my go-to for getting it just right. This scale measures weight to the gram and has a built-in timer, ensuring you hit that perfect coffee-to-water ratio and optimal brew time. It’s sleek, easy to use, and indispensable for anyone looking to take their pour-over game to the next level.
Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder
A good grinder can make all the difference, and the Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder is my favorite. It features 40 grind settings, allowing you to adjust the grind size to suit any brewing method. The consistency of the grind is top-notch, and it’s simple to operate and clean. Freshly ground coffee truly elevates the flavor, and with the Baratza Encore, you’ll never go back to pre-ground beans.
Bonavita 1L Digital Variable Temperature Gooseneck Electric Kettle
Perfect temperature control is essential for brewing the best coffee, and the Bonavita Gooseneck Kettle is a game-changer. With six preset temperatures and a precise pour spout, this kettle ensures your water is always at the ideal temperature for extraction. Whether you’re brewing coffee or tea, the Bonavita makes the process effortless and enjoyable.
French Press
A French Press is one additional brewer I keep on hand for when I have guests and need to brew coffee more quickly, or to make it easier for visitors who don’t know how to use a Chemex and want coffee before I wake up. I have a traditional glass French Press but would love to pick up a stainless steel one when it comes time to make a replacement.
Milk Frother
One of the more underrated kitchen utensils is a solid milk frother. Not only does it come in clutch during winter months when you want that nice foamy cafe au lait or faux latte vibe, but it’s also very effective year round for stirring in any kind of powered mixture to a liquid, or even combining liquids. We often use ours to blend in electrolytes, incorporate protein powder, or whip up hot (or cold) chocolate. Think less powerful than an immersion blender, but better than a spoon.
Special Summer Gear
Toddy® Cold Brew System
When the weather heats up, cold brew is the way to go. The Toddy® Cold Brew System is my top pick for making smooth, rich cold brew at home. It’s incredibly easy to use and produces a concentrate that’s perfect for iced coffee, lattes, or even cocktails. The system’s low-acidity brew is gentle on the stomach and absolutely delicious, making it a summer essential in my kitchen.

Their vintage design adds a touch of elegance to any drink, and they’re perfect for showcasing the beautiful layers of your coffee creations. These glasses are versatile, durable, and make every sip feel like a special occasion.
